Parker and Mooney co-opted

E-mail Print PDF

Both Brandon Parker and Pat Mooney have been co-opted today to the board of the WSA while Dr.Hamish McInnes resignation has been accepted by Barry Hearn.

The addition of both influential characters means that Barry Hearn has now put his own stamp on the board and should see the board better placed to take advantage of emerging markets in Europe. For those that don’t know, Brandon is the manager of Shaun Murphy and has been the promoter of the Paul Hunter Classic in Germany for the past few years. Mooney on the other hand manages both John Higgins and Graham Dott and has been instrumental in the hosting of the World Series events along with Higgins. The duo's contacts in Europe should enable Hearn to fast-track plans to identify potential venue's and independent promoters around Europe and combined with 110sport's Lee Doyle the new look board should have all the ingredients to push the sport into new territories.

With Hearn meeting the BBC tomorrow it certainly is a big week for the sport which seems to be heading together in the right direction.
