Barry Hearn has talked about a new tournament that he's mad to run as part of his overhaul of the snooker calendar. The Idea will shock the traditionalists of snooker as he aims to have a one frame shootout over one weekend with the World's Top 64.
Sounds ok so far until you get to the part about 12 minutes a frame, ball in hand, 20 sec shot clock, party atmosphere, free flowing beer, no over 35's allowed and walks of shame for the losers, then basically, it sounds great!
He aims to mesh snooker together with the likes of prizefighter and the WWF for one weekend only and talks are underway as we speak with broadcasters regarding this radical event.
What the players will make of it we don't know but any event where they can win 32,000 pound for winning 6 frames cant be all that bad.
