110sport Management are delighted to announce that teenage Belgian snooker sensation Luca Brecel has joined their ranks. The 14-year-old from Dilsen-Stokkem will team up alongside the likes of world No.1 Ronnie O’Sullivan, world No.2 Stephen Maguire, seven-times world champion Stephen Hendry, former world champions Ken Doherty and Peter Ebdon, reigning Grand Prix champion Neil Robertson, Welsh Open champion Ali Carter and top 16 stars Ryan Day, Marco Fu, Mark Allen, Joe Perry and Mark King.
In April last year he became the youngest ever European under-19 champion, and in May reached the last eight at the Grand Final of the World Series of Snooker in Portugal.
Speaking to 110sport.tv, Luca said; “Just to see my name alongside some of the most famous names in snooker gives me a real thrill.
“This is just a fantastic opportunity for me. With all of 110’s history and achievements, it’s like joining Manchester United!
“Naturally I want to go as far as I can in the game and I have many ambitions; to become a regular on the Main Tour, to become the first player from mainland Europe to break into the top 16, and to win titles.
“And being part of 110sport will hopefully give me that opportunity.”
Luca has also beaten a number of top names, including Hendry, who he beat in an exhibition earlier this month in Bruges.
“Luca is a brilliant player, quite exceptional,” said Hendry. “He has fantastic ability. The only thing he is lacking is experience – but that will come very quickly.”
Lee Doyle, Chairman of 110sport Group, said he was delighted to be welcoming Luca on-board.
“Luca is a prodigious talent and has the potential to become a really top player in a few years,” said Doyle. “It goes without saying that we will do everything to give Luca every opportunity to progress in his career.”
Luca had a great day at Wembley where he watched some of the action in the Ronnie O’Sullivan-Peter Ebdon match, having met both players beforehand as he had a knock on one of the practice tables watched by 110’s Director of Coaching Terry Griffiths.
O’Sullivan said he’d heard a lot about Luca – and made one young man’s day by inviting him over to practice with him some time in the near future.
Luca also got the chance to meet his snooker ‘hero’ – 110sport’s own Mark Allen, who gave him some advice for what a young player should be doing to progress in the game.
