Stephen Maguire put Mark King's dancing on hold for at least another couple of weeks when he sent him packing 6-3 in tonight’s session at the Masters. King certainly stepped up to the challenge over the last couple of days responding to Barry Hearn's plea for the players to leave their character shine through as he aims to liven up the sport.
King had led 2-0 before Maguire staged his comeback to 2-2 which included a superb 121 break, the highest of the event so far. King took the next frame but then lost four frames on the trot with Maguire knocking in breaks of 78, 87 and 82 to take the match and progress to face either Ryan Day or Joe Perry in Friday's quarter final match.
King on the other hand will have plenty of time now before the Welsh Open to perfect his new entrance and pick a few more songs and who knows what we might see next.
In the other match earlier in the day Shaun Murphy defeated Stephen Hendry 6-4 in a superb match which despite seeing Hendry knock in two centuries Murphy just done enough to run out the winner. Murphy will now face the winner of the clash between Ali Carter and Mark Williams in the quarter finals.
Just in case you missed Mark King's first entrance for his match against Jimmy White you can now watch it here...
