According to the Daily Mail Ronnie O'Sullivan has paid up his subscription to join the new Snooker Players Association. The association which is being pushed by the likes of Steve Davis, John Higgins and Pat Mooney has been signing up players over the last few months and now has over 100 members including around 40 of the Top 64 professionals.
However O'Sullivan's backing will surely give the association much needed strenght when it brings it proposals to World Snooker soon. O'Sullivan who just last week picked up the Shanghai Masters is a frequent critic of World Snooker and now wants his say along with his fellow professionals in the way that our sport is managed at the highest level.
The SPA wants above all a say in how the ranking points are allocated and greater control over the calender to avoid repeats of what happened last season when several events clashed at late notice.
You too can join the professional snooker players' association for only £50 per year and help shape a better future for our sport. View the new website.
