Highfield won the final today 6-2 against Neal Jones after the week long event in which he had some superb results right from the off. Infact both the finalists from the first event faced each other in the first round this time round and it was Highfield who came out on top beating Jack Liswoski 4-3 to progress.
Round 2 saw yet another superb result as he beat the impressive Robbie Williams 4-2 before a solid 4-1 victory over ex-main tour player Vincent Muldoon in the Last 16 which included a 111 break.
The quarter finals saw another solid performance against young Welsh player Jak Jones before then winning out in a final frame decider against yet another Welsh player Jamie Jones 5-4 in the semi's to secure his place in the final and surely the main tour. With the top 8 qualifying for the tour and the usual points tally of just over 500+ points being good enough, Highfield now has a superb 520 point already at this early stage.
The next event will see Liam face up against Adam Davies in the first round and with the pressure now off him regarding picking up points then Highfield could be a very dangerous player for the rest of the season as he can now sit back and enjoy his snooker and fine tune his game for next season.
