Northern Ireland's Declan Brennan claimed the European Under-17 Open title in fine style on Sunday when he staged a superb comeback from 4-2 down to run out a 5-4 winner against England's Sam Harvey.
Brennan has been one of the top juniors in Europe for the past few years and now competes on the PIOS tour thus was most people's favorite to take this title.
The youngster came through his group with four wins out of four before beating Ireland's Andrew Gray 4-3 in a close fought quarter final match.
The semi final however saw him run out an easy 4-0 winner against England's Zak Barton while in the other half of the draw Harvey progressed thanks to a 4-3 win over Ireland's Ryan Cronin and then Scotland's Scott Donaldson to reach the final.
The final saw Harvey start in superb form with a 114 break which ended up the high break of the event. He then took the second but a 43 break helped Brennan take the next frame on the black 76-69 before leveling at 2-2.
Breaks of 56 and 60 helped Harvey race into a 4-2 lead but that's when Brennan fought back winning three frames on the spin to take the title.
