An 18-day training-cum-coaching camp of Pakistan team for the 25th Asian Snooker Championship will be held at Karachi Gymkhana Billiards Hall from Saturday the 11th of April. Newly crowned national champion Muhammad Asif and former champion Muhammad Sajjad will attend the training camp supervised by coach Bilal Mughal. "We know both Asif and Sajjad are well equipped cueists.

But the camp will be a perfect platform in the build-up for the Asian event, President Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) Alamgir Anwar Shaikh said Thursday. "Pakistan got a good reputation in the Asian circuit and we want to see duo of Sajjad and Asif bringing glory and honour to the country from China," he said. Alamgir Shaikh said four to six hours daily training sessions will be conducted and Bilal Mughal will be chalking out comprehensive training programme for the players. He said the services of Bilal have been acquired for short stint and he hoped that both players will fully exploit the training opportunities for Asian championship, to be held in Tangshan (China) from May 2 to 10.

Sargodha-based Bilal was appointed Pakistan team coach for a short stint before the Asian championship held in Dubai last May and his pupil Muhammad Sajjad reached the quarter-final on his debut in the continental gala. Former world championship finalist in China, Saleh Muhammad lost in the pre-quarterfinal but became the first cueist to register the maximum break of 147 under his coaching.
