Asian snooker champion Yasin Merchant and Aditya Mehta (Pictured) lead an elite field in the HSBC Premier-Shyam Shroff Memorial Open Invitation snooker tournament at the Khar Gymkhana from April 13 to 28. Merchant is the defending champion. The event is held in memory of one of India’s most versatile cueists, Shyam Shroff, a seven-time National snooker champion.This year’s main draw includes India No. 1 Manan Chandra, Sourav Kothari, Alok Kumar, Brijesh Damani, Shahbaz Khan, Devendra Joshi, Geet Sethi, Kamal Chawla, Rupesh Shah and Rafat Habib.
This elite 12-player group will be joined by four Khar Gym players, apart from four qualifiers from a preliminary event. The winner’s purse is €1500 , while the runner-up will earn €750.
