The Gulf's top amateur snooker player Mohammed Shehab has been bolstered by an individual sponsorship for the first time in his career by leading snooker equipments merchants and makers Rais tables which is managed by the Rais brothers, owners of the renowned Dubai Snooker Club.
Shehab was thrilled after getting this sponsorship which he said was a motivation to enhance his performance in the coming year. Mohammed is trained and guided by Irish Coach PJ Nolan and he believes that this sponsorship will allow his player to focus more on his training and allow him to play in more major events around the world.
Mohammed works with PJ by sending his practice scores to PJ from his individually designed training book each week by email and this allows PJ to monitor his training game. Mohammed already holds a number of PJ's academy records breaks and scores.
Mohammed is a former WSA Professional player and has a number of major achievements to his name already including the Asian Games Gold where he defeated James Watanna in the final. Mohammed has also reached the semi finals in both the Asian and World Amateur Championships and is regarded as one of the best amateur players in the world.
The next event up for Mohammed is the Thailand Open which takes place next week and 2010 has already been successful as he helped the UAE national team to victory in the recent GCC Championship where he took the highest break with a 126 on his way to winning all five of his matches whilst only dropping 1 frame.

The next couple of months will see Mohammed fine tuning his game as he gears up for another assault on the ACBS Asian championship in May and this sponsorship deal will certainly help him in his preparation.
The RAIS GROUP is a major retail player in the Gulf with RAIS Tables a small subsidiary, as is the Dubai Snooker Club which is one of the finest facilities in the region.
