The draw for the 2009 ISBF World Championships has now been made and is available here.
The event has seen it's fair share of controversy in the last month or so but now that the groups have been made and play is just over a week away we now get to concentrate on the snooker side of the event and less on the polictics.
Unlike previous events the IBSF will only have groups of 6 players with two qualifying (although rumour has it this may be increased to four). Hopefully this will be the case as some of the groups seem out of balance and with only two qualifying could be very unfair on certain players.
The host country India will have 13 or 14 players involved with Pankaj Advani and Aditya Mehta strong favourites to be there or thereabouts come the end of the tournament. They will have to battle it out with the likes of Alfie Burden, Supoj Sanela, Mario Fernandez, Alex Borg, Mohammed Shehab, Tian Pengfei and many, many more and we will have to wait until the 25th of November to see who's crowned champion.
The final will now be played several days early on the 25th due to the small entry in each event but conditions and accommodation in India should be second to none as usual. The groups for both the Masters and the Ladies event are also available by clicking on the links.
