England's Martin Gould the current World No.46 ranked player travelled to India to take part in the Poona Club Manisha Open and Invitational Snooker Championship 2009. The event is in it's fourth year and Martin defeated Aditya Metha 7-3 in the final to take the trophy and the RS 50,000 first prize (approx 750 Euro's).
Gould stated that ''I am very happy to have played the event, the competition was extremely good and will surely help my confidence. I hope to be back for the event next year'' after the four hour final.
In the semi finals Gould faced Brajesh Damani who he saw of with a 5-1 victory while Metha defeated Manan Chandra in thier semi final encounter by the same scoreline
