James Wattana (Ratchapol Pum-Ob-Orm) made histroy today becoming the first player ever to lift the Asian Championship title three times. He beat 27 year old local favourite Mei Xiwen 7-3 in the final after a superb tournament in which he showed why he should make a return to the main tour.
Wattana previously won the title way back in 1986 and 1988 before winning the IBSF title in 1988 also and turned pro the following season winning three professional titles in along career that ended recently.
Wattana will now make a return to the professional ranks after winning this event and will now return to England for the start of the pro season.
